Duties and Responsibilities

The OICT's Enterprise Solutions Service (OICT/ESS) develops and supports a wide range of enterprise solutions and provides products and services that support the work of the UN. This position is within the OICT/ESS office, hosted by the United Nations Global Geospatial Knowledge and Innovation Centre. This position is based in Deqing, Zhejiang, China. Duties and Responsibilities This is to support the Quality Assurance and Quality Control of various applications developed by OICT: • Create test plans, test cases, and test scripts for assigned modules in line with the organization's quality standards • Create automation scripts to automate repetitive validations tasks • Validate functional and technical requirements through system testing and regression testing • Design and execute standard testing techniques (smoke, sanity, black-box, regression, etc.) to verify functionality against requirements • Identify, create, and secure test data, and manage it across the relevant systems for SIT and UAT Nota bene: • The consultant has 10 paid UN holidays per calendar year, following the calendar of the duty station
Qualifications/special skills
A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) is required - A degree in computer science, information technology, mathematics, statistics or related field is highly desirable. 2 years of hands-on QA experience of web applications and mobile apps across different browsers and devices is required Provable hands-on experience with automation tools (Cypress or Playwright preferred) is required Strong written and verbal English communication skills, the ability to document findings clearly and present them with confidence is required Ability to work independently, take ownership, and deliver against agreed timelines, is required Experience with AI and GIS is desirable. Ability to travel abroad for projects is desirable. Applicants are required to be authorized to work in China regardless of where they live at the time of applying for the job opening. Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English (oral and written) is required. Knowledge of other UN official languages is an advantage.
