ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT:
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) Cambodia works with government, development, and humanitarian partners to improve food security, nutrition, and resilience across the country.
Reporting to the Deputy Country Director or designated supervisor, the Business Support Associate - Supply Chain provides operational and administrative support across procurement, logistics, contracting, and inventory management activities. The position contributes to the efficient, compliant, and cost-effective delivery of goods and services, while supporting day-to-day coordination with suppliers, service providers, and internal stakeholders.
JOB PURPOSE:
To provide specialized operational, administrative, and coordination support across supply chain management functions, including procurement, contracting, logistics, inventory management, and vendor relations, ensuring the efficient and compliant delivery of goods and services in support of programme implementation and organizational objectives.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF ASSIGNMENT:
The World Food Programme (WFP) Cambodia is implementing its Country Strategic Plan (CSP) through integrated programme and operational support functions that enable efficient, accountable and sustainable delivery of assistance. Within this context, the Business Support Associate (Supply Chain) contributes to the effective planning, coordination and monitoring of supply chain activities that support programme implementation and partnership engagement across the Country Office.
The incumbent provides specialized business support and coordination across supply chain functions, including procurement coordination, inventory oversight, transport management, performance monitoring and stakeholder engagement. The position supports data-driven decision-making, compliance, risk management and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen operational efficiency and ensure effective delivery of CSP priorities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):
1. Coordinate end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement, contracting, logistics, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
2. Manage sourcing and vendor engagement, including market assessments, supplier selection, tendering processes, contract preparation, performance monitoring, and resolution of operational issues.
3. Oversee the movement, storage, and control of goods and supplies, ensuring accurate inventory records, shipment tracking, customs clearance, and compliance with operational procedures.
4. Maintain supply chain information and reporting systems, analyze operational data, and prepare reports to support planning, performance monitoring, compliance, and informed decision-making.
5. Support financial and operational planning, including budget monitoring, resource management, audit readiness, risk mitigation, and adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
6. Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, supervise support staff as required, and contribute to emergency preparedness, response activities, and continuous process improvement.
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE:
A minimum of six (6) years of relevant professional experience in supply chain management, procurement, logistics, warehousing, or related operational functions.
Experience in supply and demand planning, inventory management, warehousing, transportation, and end-to-end supply chain operations.
Experience conducting market assessments, supplier evaluations, sourcing activities, contract administration, and vendor performance management.
Experience using ERP systems or similar (e.g., SAP/WINGS) and reporting tools for transaction processing, operational monitoring, and reporting.
Experience in budget monitoring, data analysis, KPI tracking, and preparation of management reports to support decision-making and performance improvement.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Completion of secondary education. Post-secondary certificate in Supply chain, Logistics, Procurement, Business Administration or related field.
Language:
Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Khmer.
