Organizational Setting
The Department of Nuclear Safety and Security (NS) formulates and implements the IAEA's nuclear safety and security programme, which encompasses the IAEA's activities to protect people and the environment from radiation exposure, and responds to the needs of its Member States related to nuclear safety and nuclear security.
Main Purpose
The Consultant will provide technical expertise to enhance and expand the IEC's eLearning offerings, building on and optimizing the use of existing training materials, including enhancing and creating new eLearning modules in Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPR), in accordance with the GSR Part 7 and other Safety Standards in EPR. The Consultant will be involved in the planning, coordination, and implementation of this development. Key duties include further development in key EPR topics, developing eLearning materials, reviewing existing materials as well as soliciting feedback from users, and improving the materials according to feedback received. The Consultant will also consider integrating innovative instructional methodologies and virtual reality (VR) technologies and ensuring that the eLearning materials effectively build the necessary knowledge and skills of the users. The Consultant will ensure the eLearning materials meet the needs of the IEC, users and stakeholders and aligns with the strategic goals of the NS-IEC.
Functions / Key Results Expected
1. Technical development of eLearning materials based on the Safety Standards and EPR documents for the IAEA.
Qualifications and Experience
Remuneration The remuneration for this consultancy is a daily fee of up to a maximum of € 250, based on qualifications and experience. In case duty travel is required within the assignment, a daily subsistence allowance (DSA) and travel costs are provided. Health coverage and pension fund are the responsibility of the incumbent.
