Background
At the WFP Centre of Excellence against Hunger in Brazil, we are seeking a Junior Business Support Assistant to join the Communications Unit. The incumbent will support administrative and communication-related processes that contribute to the development of communication products and the delivery of communication services, with the objective of strengthening WFP’s visibility and reputation, as well as supporting communication-related fundraising initiatives.
About the Centre of Excellence against Hunger in Brazil
WFP Centre of Excellence against Hunger in Brazil is a global hub for South-South Cooperation and capacity development in the areas of school feeding, food security and nutrition. It is an innovation initiative that seeks to respond demands of governments in various countries for technical support to strengthen their national capacities and knowledge on sustainable school feeding and other food security programme and to support them in the design and implementation of these programmes. Supervision: The Junior Business Support Assistant (Communications) reports to the Communications Officer.
Accountabilities: Within delegated authority, the incumbent will perform the following duties:
Provide business and administrative support to the preparation and dissemination of communication content across online and offline channels, including social media, websites, and print materials, ensuring alignment with corporate messaging.
Support the maintenance of office files, documents, and video/photos in accordance with established systems and processes so that information is current and readily available for staff.
Undertake standard data entry and content tracking tasks related to the social media calendar and communications reporting, ensuring information is organized and readily accessible to the team.
Support the graphic design unit in the formatting and assembly of textual content in line with WFP guidelines.
Perform administrative tasks related to communications operations, including procurement processes and documentation.
Support the preparation of periodic reports on communications activities and outputs.
Assist in translating and adapting communications materials, including social media content, reports, and public information documents, as required.
Perform any other business support or communications-related duties as required.
Minimum qualifications:
Education:
Completion of secondary education. A university degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Design, or related fields is an asset.
Experience:
At least one (1) year of relevant work experience with office and administrative procedures, reporting, and database management.
Experience supporting communications activities (e.g., content production, social media, or design).
Knowledge:
Familiarity with communications tools and platforms (e.g. content management systems such as WordPress).
Ability to organize information, manage multiple tasks, and provide client-oriented support.
Working knowledge of design and multimedia tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe package, CapCut) is an asset.
Language:
Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Portuguese. Working knowledge in Spanish or French will be an asset.

Planning and Organization - Effectively prioritizes tasks and manages workflows to support communications outputs.
