Mission and objectives
The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme contributes to peace and development through volunteerism worldwide. We work with partners to integrate qualified, highly motivated and well supported UN Volunteers into development programming and promote the value and global recognition of volunteerism. UNV has five Regional Offices in Amman (Arab States, Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States), Bangkok (Asia and the Pacific), Dakar (West and Central Africa), Nairobi (East and Southern Africa) and Panama City (Latin America and the Caribbean). The regional offices are the first entry point for partners wishing to engage with UNV. They offer UNV services and solutions to government partners, UN entities, civil society and the private sector, and takes the lead in scoping and delivering UNV advisory services on volunteer infrastructure. They also provide oversight and strategic guidance to UNV's field units in the regions.
Assignment context

To increase the visibility of our impact and advocate for the recognition of volunteers globally, we produce a wide range of multimedia content. This includes web stories, social media campaigns, and project showcases.
We are seeking skilled video editors to support the communications team in transforming raw footage, interviews, and archival material into compelling visual narratives that highlight the contributions of UN Volunteers across various regional and thematic portfolios.
Task description
We are looking for six (6) Online Volunteers who, under the guidance of the Communications Team, will provide general video editing support. Each Online Volunteer is asked to:
• Edit raw footage into high-quality videos for diverse platforms (e.g., YouTube, X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
• Perform colour correction, incorporate motion graphics, and ensure high-quality audio mixing;
• Incorporate subtitles (often in multiple languages) and branding elements as per UNV guidelines;
• Collaborate with the communications focal points to refine edits in line with feedback and storytelling goals.
• Output videos in 3 different aspect ratios

9:16 [1080*1920]
4:5 [1080*1350]
All productions must follow UNV's corporate identity and branding guidelines, which will be provided upon recruitment.
The Online Volunteers will have the opportunity to contribute to a global UN program, gain experience in international development communications, and showcase their work to a worldwide audience.
Skills and experience
Candidates should have professional experience in video editing, audio mixing, and must be proficient in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve), as well as good verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to work with diverse footage from different cultural contexts.
A degree in communication, multimedia, or a related field is considered an asset.
