Organizational Setting
The Department of Nuclear Safety and Security (NS) formulates and implements the IAEA's nuclear safety and security programme, which encompasses the IAEA's activities to protect people and the environment from radiation exposure, and responds to the needs of its Member States related to nuclear safety and nuclear security.
Main Purpose
The consultant will provide technical expertise and implement activities related to the IAEA's response to the worldwide nuclear and radiological events, so that the IAEA can fulfil its legal obligations under the Convention on Early Notification of a Nuclear Accident and the Convention on Assistance in the Case of a Nuclear Accident or Radiological Emergency. This includes: to prepare, implement and evaluate exercises (ConvEx), developing relevant documentation and providing related training. The consultant will provide technical input and expertise to the delivery of IEC's programmatic activities related to the implementation of the international response arrangements for nuclear and radiological emergencies, and to the provision of emergency assistance in the framework of the Assistance Convention.

Qualifications and Experience
Remuneration The remuneration for this consultancy is a daily fee of up to a maximum of € 250, based on qualifications and experience. In case duty travel is required within the assignment, a daily subsistence allowance (DSA) and travel costs are provided. Health coverage and pension fund are the responsibility of the incumbent.
