Assignment context

UNAIDS Malawi seeks to expand the reach of its approved posts on X through Online Volunteers and their existing networks. The campaign covers information on the UNAIDS organizational transition and its mandate and role, HIV messages related to gender-based violence during the 16 Days of Activism using #16Days, and awareness-raising messages for World AIDS Day.

Online Volunteers will gain practical experience in digital advocacy and contribute to HIV awareness and the visibility of UNAIDS Malawi. UNAIDS will provide approved post links. Small mobile data bundles are envisaged to facilitate participation.

Task description

We are looking for approximately 100 Online Volunteers to amplify approved posts on X under the guidance of the UNAIDS Malawi communications focal point. Volunteers will repost content provided by UNAIDS through existing personal accounts or organizational accounts they are authorized to use. The assignment does not include graphic design, original content production, offline activities or management of the official UNAIDS account.

Each online volunteer is expected to:

- Repost 30-40 distinct approved X posts without adding any comments over the assignment.
- Use public accounts, avoid providing medical advice or speaking on behalf of UNAIDS.
- Submit weekly activity logs with post links, reposts and views.
- Participate in one virtual orientation session.

Skills and experience

- Active X user able to repost content, use hashtags and keep basic activity records; access to an internet-enabled device and an existing public account authorized for use is required.
- minimum of 150 followers.
- Ability to communicate respectfully, follow guidance, meet agreed deadlines and participate in online sessions.
- Strong network or followers in Malawi is highly desirable.
- Applicants must have a valid email address and check it regularly for assignment-related communications
