Progressive Volunteers (PV) is a community-based volunteering programme operating in Kenya since 2007. PV supports local organizations in identifying, recruiting and mobilizing volunteers who contribute their skills, time and expertise to drive positive change. Through meaningful volunteer engagement, PV promotes education, skills development and sustainable community development, connecting volunteers with initiatives that empower communities and create lasting impact.
PV works in partnership with Educate and Empower Organization (EEO), a nonprofit established in 2022 in Homa Bay County, Kenya. EEO is committed to empowering vulnerable girls, young people and communities through education, mentorship, skills development and advocacy.
Our partnership supports the Educate a Girl – Change a Life Kenya Initiative, which seeks to expand educational opportunities for disadvantaged girls and young people who face barriers to accessing and completing their education. Through scholarships, school fees assistance, learning materials, mentorship, leadership development and life skills, the initiative helps girls remain in school, pursue their educational aspirations and build pathways to a brighter future.
Our 2027 educational programme aims to mobilize resources to support vulnerable girls and young people in Kenya with the educational assistance and mentorship they need to continue learning, develop their potential and become agents of positive change in their communities.
PV and Educate and Empower Organization are seeking passionate, creative and results-oriented volunteers from the Global North to support its 2027 educational fundraising campaign. We are particularly interested in volunteers based in the United States, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, Europe and other countries who have experience or networks that can help mobilize international donors, fundraising communities and supporters.
This assignment offers volunteers an opportunity to collaborate remotely with EEO’s Kenya-based team, leveraging their professional skills, digital networks and personal initiative to strengthen and expand the 2027 educational programme for vulnerable girls in Kenya.
We welcome volunteers with experience in:
= Online fundraising and crowdfunding campaigns.
= International donor engagement and resource mobilization.
= Digital marketing, social media and communications.
= Peer-to-peer fundraising and community mobilization.
= Grant research, donor prospecting and fundraising partnerships.
= Campaign storytelling, content creation and audience engagement.
NB. Please note that volunteers must not directly solicit, request, or collect donations or funds from third parties.
The volunteer(s) will support the planning, implementation and promotion of EEO's 2027 educational fundraising campaign through the following activities:
1. Develop an Online Fundraising Strategy: Help EEO develop a practical fundraising plan, set targets and identify effective online fundraising approaches through GlobalGiving Platform.
2. Identify International Donors: Research potential individual donors, diaspora communities, philanthropic networks and organizations interested in supporting girls’ education in Kenya.
3. Identify Professional Networks: Introduce EEO’s fundraising campaign to professional networks and community groups in the volunteer’s country.

5. Develop Fundraising Messages: Prepare compelling fundraising emails, donor appeals, campaign messages and promotional materials that encourage people to donate.
6. Build International Partnerships: Identify and engage schools, universities, community organizations, professional associations and potential partners interested in girls’ education.
7. Develop Impact Stories and Campaign Content: Help prepare inspiring stories, campaign updates and educational impact messages that demonstrate how donations support girls’ education.
8. Monitor and Report Fundraising Results: Track fundraising activities, donor outreach, campaign engagement and donations, and prepare a final report highlighting achievements, challenges and recommendations.
