Assignment context
CAMAAY (Cameroon Association of Active Youths) is a nonprofit working on community development across Cameroon, in areas from agriculture and education to health, the environment, and youth programs. Our work runs on donations and grants. Under its digital literacy and STEM programs, CAMAAY wants to understand how young people in Cameroon access, perceive, and use AI. The findings will show whether Cameroon is well suited to initiatives that widen access to AI, including tools that work without reliable internet, and will guide CAMAAY’s awareness activities and its conversations with potential partners. This assignment covers the design stage only; the study itself is carried out in person by CAMAAY’s local team once funding is in place. It contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 4 (quality education) and Goal 9 (industry, innovation and infrastructure).

Write the research protocol, including informed consent procedures and, for participants under 18, parental or guardian consent, along with data protection and basic ethics considerations
Develop the data collection tools (a structured questionnaire and, if useful, short interview guides) designed for in-person use, written in English and ready to be translated and adapted for French-speaking regions
