POSITION TITLE: Fundraising Data Analyst

ORG UNIT: Private Partnerships (PSP) Org.Unit 50015246

DUTY STATION: Remote (administrative DS is Rome, HQ)

CONTRACT TYPE: CST-I

DURATION: 11 months

LINE MANAGER/SUPERVISOR: Head of Insights and Strategic Enablement

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian agency working to create a world with zero hunger. WFP and its partners believe that no child should go to bed hungry and that individual and collective wellbeing can only be achieved if all children, women and men get the nutritious food they need to lead healthy, dignified lives. Each year, WFP assists 86.7 million people in 83 countries. Every day, some 5,600 WFP-chartered trucks are on the road, 92 planes are in the air and 20 ships are at sea. These numbers speak to WFP’s unparalleled reputation as an emergency responder, one that is often the first on the scene in the most difficult environments. WFP also works with partners to strengthen the resilience of communities most vulnerable to hunger and malnutrition through long-term development programmes aimed at boosting food security, local economies, education, employment and gender equality. While hunger and malnutrition are the world’s largest solvable issues, the needs are still immense and growing. 821 million people in the world suffer from chronic hunger.

WFP is committed to growing private sector fundraising with a focus on individual giving and have developed two products - WFP.org and ShareTheMeal (STM). Individual giving is recognized as a fundraising channel that has been successfully used by other UN agencies generating the bulk of their private sector income.

The Business Intelligence Hub (BI Hub) was developed to enable the fundraising teams through deep data insights, analysis of their fundraising data, day-to-day reporting and forecasting / income modelling. Our fundraising programme takes a data first and evidence driven approach to fundraising, with all decisions informed by data, reporting & analysis – be they day-to-day marketing tactics or programme-wide, long-term investment decisions. This makes the BI Hub an extremely important partner of both individual giving teams at WFP. In addition to analysis, the BI Hub comprises a planning and research element to better understand supporter motivations, external market trends and to help turn data insights into actionable insights.
