In the Upper Middle-Income Country context, UNDP country office in Maldives provides technical assistance, policy and technical advisory services to the Government of Maldives in their efforts towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG); in partnership with development partners, financial institutions, private sector and civil society.
In Maldives, UNDP’s programme priorities and partnerships are defined and operationalized through the Country Programme between Government of Maldives and UNDP to support and contribute to the development priorities and results envisioned in the 5-year Strategic Action Plan. We work on climate and disaster resilience, democratic governance, and to drive and sustain the
kind of growth that improves the quality of life for everyone, with people and nature in balance.
Assignment context
The project requires professional graphic design and layout support to prepare a series of publications for dissemination and public use. The reports must align with the project branding guidelines and be formatted to a high publication standard suitable for digital distribution.
Task description
The Online Volunteers will work under the guidance of the Project Manager and collaborate closely with the project team and will provide graphic design and publication layout support for three project reports, ensuring consistency with approved branding and communication guidelines and producing publication-ready outputs.
Scope of Work
• Design and format three project reports totaling approximately 120 pages per report. All work will be divided after discussion with the three Online Volunteers.
• Apply project branding guidelines including fonts, typography, color palette, logo placement, and visual identity standards.
• Develop professional page layouts and templates.
• Design and enhance cover pages, section dividers, infographics, tables, charts, and visual elements.
• Ensure visual consistency across all reports.
• Prepare reports for publication and digital dissemination.
• Incorporate feedback and revisions from the project team.
• Deliver finalized reports in editable and PDF formats.
Expected Deliverables
1. Design template for three reports aligned with project branding.
2. Professionally formatted and designed Report 1.
3. Professionally formatted and designed Report 2.
4. Professionally formatted and designed Report 3.
5. Final publication-ready files in editable source format and high-resolution PDF, including design assets.
Estimated Volume of Work
Approximately 120 total report pages across three reports. Estimated duration: 4 to 6 weeks depending on revision cycles.
Online Volunteers may be asked to join virtual coordination calls with the project team. All material will remain the intellectual property of UNDP Maldives.
Skills and experience
• Demonstrated experience in graphic design and publication layout;
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva or equivalent;
• Experience in designing reports and publications;
• Strong understanding of branding standards;
• Ability to create charts and infographics;
• Strong attention to detail.
