WFP Lebanon provides cash assistance to Syrian refugees and in-kind assistance to vulnerable Lebanese, while supporting the Government in strengthening social safety nets. WFP supports resilience-building activities, and its school meals programme improves nutrition and school attendance. Since October 2023, WFP has provided food and cash assistance to people affected by the conflict and has scaled up its food assistance including the distribution of daily meals following the recent escalation.

Job Purpose:

Under the direct supervision of the Head of TEC or a designated senior colleague, the incumbent will assist with the development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and user support of locally developed systems and digital tools. The incumbent will complete assigned coding, configuration, testing, documentation, and deployment tasks using approved specifications and established procedures.

The incumbent will also perform routine support and monitoring for applications and databases hosted on AWS or similar platforms; assist with pilots and rollouts; and escalate complex development, cloud administration, integration, security, and solution-design matters.

Key Responsibilities (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):

• Assist with maintaining and enhancing web-based applications and digital tools by completing assigned frontend and backend coding or configuration tasks using approved specifications and standards.
• Assist senior colleagues in implementing and maintaining application features using React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP/Laravel, or similar approved frameworks.
• Perform basic unit and functional testing; troubleshoot routine issues; apply documented or approved fixes; and escalate complex defects or performance issues.
• Respond to basic user queries, resolve routine application issues using established procedures, and escalate non-standard or complex cases.
• Assist with application installation, configuration, deployment, and release activities, following approved plans, established procedures, and senior direction.
• Collect, collate, and document user needs and routine business requirements to support senior colleagues' analysis, specifications, and solution decisions.
• Follow established IT security, data-protection, backup, and business-continuity procedures; report exceptions and escalate security or recovery issues promptly.
• Perform other related duties, as required.

STANDARD MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Completion of Secondary school education. University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is a plus.

Experience: At least four (4) years of progressive experience in software development. Experience in systems engineering, data engineering, data analysis, or related technical fields is a plus.

Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic. Knowledge of French language is an added advantage.

Required experiences for entry into the role:

• Experience supporting the maintenance, testing, or implementation of web-based applications.
• Basic working knowledge of front-end technologies such as React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with assigned back-end support or coding tasks using PHP, Laravel, or similar frameworks.
• Experience with application testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
• Familiarity with API integrations and version control tools such as Git.
• Experience providing user support and maintaining locally developed applications.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills

Desired experiences for entry into the role:

• Familiarity with routine support and monitoring of cloud-hosted services (e.g. AWS EC2, S3, or similar).
• Basic knowledge of relational databases, routine data queries, and maintenance procedures like SQL.
