The Secretariat of the WTO is seeking to establish a roster for individual consultant positions of Multimedia Producer under an individual Special Service Agreement (SSA) in the Information and External Relations Division.
The positions are with Audio-Visual and Social Media Unit of the Information and External Relations Division. Selected candidates will form a roster generally valid for two years and may be called to sign a contract for a fixed number of worked days within a period (normally one year; depending on needs contracts may be offered for a shorter period).
Deliverables/ Outputs, Milestones and Timelines
Under the supervision of the Head of Audio-Visual and Social Media, and other members of the section, the consultants are expected to produce audio-visual materials for the WTO website and other online platforms, operating as part of a team. Candidates who are offered a contract will receive dates in advance for major events, and respond to short-term needs according to their availability.
According to the workplan of the Audio-Visual and Social Media Section, the range of tasks assigned to the Consultant may include:
- Film events, video messages, and other activities;
- Edit video content from a script using Final Cut Pro X;
- Provide photography of events, portraits and other activities;
- Operate studio equipment during recordings and interviews;
- Create graphic motion elements as needed;
- Create new concepts for audio-visual materials and collaborate in script writing as needed;
- Output content according to the WTO's audio-visual workflow;
- Contribute to the selection of future equipment, up-keep of current equipment; participate in discussions about workflow improvements.
All equipment is provided by the WTO for the tasks listed above. Work is presential in Geneva at the WTO.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor's degree in film production, television, multimedia production, communications, audiovisual arts, or a related field. Robust experience may replace this requirement.
Knowledge and Skills
Technical knowledge and skills:
- Advanced skills in video production, including filming, lighting, audio recording.
- Advanced skills in video editing and post-production for web, social media, broadcast and corporate communications.
- Advanced proficiency in Final Cut Pro (FCPX), including media management, multicam editing, colour correction, audio mixing, captioning and delivery in multiple formats.
- Skills in motion graphics and animated content creation for digital and social media platforms.
- Professional photography skills, including event, documentary, portrait and institutional photography.
- Skills in studio production and operation, including camera systems, lighting grids, teleprompters, audio equipment and recording workflows.
- Skills in the recording and production of executive video messages, interviews and talking-head productions.
- Skills in content adaptation and optimization for social media, websites, digital platforms and broadcast distribution.
- Skills in troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues related to cameras, lighting, audio, editing systems and studio facilities.
- Skills in asset organization, archiving and media management.
Behavioural skills
- Ability to work independently in high-pressure and fast-paced event environments.
- Strong planning and project management skills for simultaneous multimedia productions.
- Ability to work directly with senior executives and public officials in professional filming environments.
- Strong attention to visual storytelling, branding consistency and editorial quality.
- Excellent collaboration skills with communications and event teams.
Experience
A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
Languages
Fluency in English and French are required. Spanish is an advantage.
Duration of Agreement
Usually for one calendar year, for a number of work days to be decided between the consultant and the WTO.
Fee structure
To be discussed depending on qualifications and experience.
Additional Information
Individual consultants are engaged under individual agreements entered into by the hiring division of the WTO, directly with the individual concerned. The WTO cannot enter into an SSA contract directly with a legal person where individuals have created one whereby they are the sole partner/shareholder/employee.
