Technical cooperation appointments are not expected to lead to a career in the ILO and they do not carry any expectation of renewal or conversion to any other type of appointment in the Organization. A one-year fixed-term contract will be given. Extensions of technical cooperation contracts are subject to various elements including the following: availability of funds, continuing need of the functions and satisfactory conduct and performance.

The National Project Coordinator will coordinate the ILO component of the Joint UN Programme on the Care Economy, “Strengthening Care Policies and Care Governance System in Bangladesh”. The three-year programme aims to strengthen Bangladesh’s care system using the ILO 5R Framework for Decent Care Work through gender-responsive policies, care-investment analysis, integrated governance frameworks, and improved care-service delivery. ILO’s 5R Framework for Decent Care Work includes recognition, reduction, redistribution of unpaid care work, and reward and representation of paid care workers.
Reporting Line
Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Director of the ILO Country Office for Bangladesh, and the direct supervision of the Head of Program and SME Development Specialist in CO-Dhaka, the National Project Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the ILO component of the joint program. The incumbent will work in close coordination with the Senior Programme Officer of Co-Dhaka, UNWOMEN, relevant government ministries, employers’ and workers’ organizations, development partners, and key stakeholders.
1. Project Delivery
First-level university degree in economics, public policy, social policy, development studies, gender studies, social sciences, labour studies, public administration, law, or another relevant field. An advanced university degree is an advantage.
At least three years of progressively responsible professional experience at the national level in project or programme management, including work planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder coordination. Experience in the care economy, gender equality, social protection, or labour market policy is required. Experience with UN joint programmes, government institutions, and social partners is highly desirable.
Excellent command of Bangla and English, both written and spoken.
