International salary questions

Which international UN grades are covered?

The calculator includes Professional, Director and higher international grades present in the UNDP reference dataset, including P-1 through P-7, D-1, D-2, ASG, USG and ADM. The current common-system ICSC scale directly publishes P-1 through P-5, D-1, D-2, ASG and USG.

What is post adjustment?

Post adjustment is a duty-station-specific amount added to net base salary to help equalise purchasing power across locations. The calculator applies the published percentage for the selected duty station.

Are hardship, danger pay and non-family allowances included?

Yes, when the selected duty station is eligible. The amount depends on the location classification, grade and whether the staff member has eligible dependants.

Is the settling-in amount guaranteed?

No. It is a planning estimate based on contract type, recruitment location, DSA, family status and relocation reference amounts. Actual eligibility and payment are determined by the employing organisation.
