Assignment context
This task entails the systematic mapping, consolidation, and organization of relevant data, stakeholders, services, initiatives, and/or geographic locations within the selected thematic area. The mapping exercise will identify existing resources, coverage gaps, priority populations, partnerships, and opportunities for improved coordination, using available datasets, reports, public sources, and information provided by relevant stakeholders. Geospatial data is particularly valuable because it links information to location, attributes, and time, enabling clearer analysis and visualization of development needs and service coverage.
The resulting data map will support evidence-based planning, programme design, advocacy, resource mobilization, and monitoring of interventions. It will help the organization understand where services and activities are concentrated, where underserved communities are located, and where additional support or collaboration is needed.
Through this assignment, Online Volunteers will strengthen the organization’s capacity to make informed, data-driven decisions and improve coordination with relevant actors. Their contributions will support progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals by improving the availability and use of disaggregated, location-based information, promoting inclusive access to services, and enabling targeted interventions for vulnerable and marginalized populations
