How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision and guidance of the supervisor, the Operations Associate (Digital Impact & Administration) provides a broad range of procedural, administrative, and specialized operational support across functions such as administration, and information and communications technology (ICT). The role requires in-depth knowledge of UNICEF procedures, processes, and policies to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of services, accurate application of rules and regulations, and effective coordination with internal and external partners.

The Operations Associate (Digital Impact & Administration) is accountable for both specialized and procedural communications, operational and administrative support services related to the a) administration of the office and b) UNICEF’s ICT systems, which include desktop administration connectivity, and server operations. 

Specialized ICT activities typically pertain to the installation and routine configuration of ICT system components and user orientation. Procedural activities include all other processes that may not require the application of specialized information technology training and knowledge, such as maintaining technical and user documentation and/or serving as focal point for receipt and processing of user requests.

Summary of Key functions:

1. Information and Communications Technology - To provide ICT support ensuring reliable connectivity, secure digital assets, and efficient use of technology resources.
2. Administration - To provide administrative, logistical, and coordination support to ensure efficient operations and effective delivery of section outputs.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

Minimum requirements:

  • Education: Completion of Secondary education is required, supplemented with formal training in Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunications, Engineering or any other related fields.
    A Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) from a recognized academic institution in a field relevant to the position may replace 3 years of related work experience. A Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) may replace an additional 2 years.
  • Work Experience: At least 6 years of practical work experience in information technology, requiring systematic methods of troubleshooting and problem solving, or other related areas, is required. 
  • Skills: ICT, Equipment Setup, Cybersecurity Training.
    Experience in providing assistance to users on IT products and services, and use of applications and diagnostic tools is required.
    Practical experience in providing technical and business Customer Support and Services is required.

          Practical experience and working knowledge of various computer platforms and applications is required.

          Relevant experience in the respective administrative support function is required.

  • Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Russian/Belarusian are required.

 

Desirables:

  • Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish) or a local language.
  • ITIL Foundation or equivalent customer support certification, experience in international organizations.
  • Technical or university courses related to the field of work.
  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance. Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station is required for IP positions and will be facilitated by UNICEF. Failure to comply with such requirements, where applicable and without a duly approved medical exemption from the relevant UN authority, will result in the cancellation of the selection or may lead to other administrative measures, including separation from service.
