Assignment context
The task involves supporting the collection, organization, and verification of relevant data from reliable sources. The data may include information on development programmes, beneficiaries, activities, outcomes, and indicators related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The collected data will be used to support programme monitoring, reporting, analysis, evidence-based decision-making, and the preparation of relevant reports and knowledge products.
Online Volunteers’ contributions will strengthen the organization’s capacity to access and organize timely and reliable data, helping to identify progress, gaps, and emerging needs in the implementation of development initiatives. Their support will contribute to evidence-based programming and improved monitoring of results, thereby supporting the organization’s efforts towards achieving the SDGs, particularly through better data availability, accountability, and informed decision-making.
Task description
For the collection of data on programmes, we seek support from 25 Online Volunteers, who under the guidance of the Programme Coordinator will:
Discuss and define objective as well as data collection methodology
Develop or identify a methodology tool for data collection, if required, and propose implementation plan
Identify and screen for data sources
Conduct data collection using defined methodology and tools from selected sources
Create/prepare report capturing findings
Skills and experience
Candidates should have in-depth understanding of concept of data collection and experience in conducting qualitative/quantitative data collection. An advanced degree in the area of data to be collected is considered an advantage. Professional level of verbal and written English is required.
